Here is part of the press release on Mary Lisa’s big win:

Mary Lisa Leffler and Carlot Claim $25,000 Blue Rock Classic Grand Prix Victory
Littlestown, PA – May 16, 2015 – Mary Lisa Leffler’s name has topped the leaderboard in both the hunter and jumper rings throughout the Blue Rock Classic at Swan Lake, and on Saturday night she claimed the horse show’s biggest prize: the win in the $25,000 Blue Rock Classic Grand Prix.

Leffler and Carlot, owned by Rolling Acres, were one of three combinations to produce a clear first round effort and advance to the jump-off, in which Carlot delivered a repeat clear performance.

The first round course, designed by Catsy Cruz, saw riders run into small difficulties throughout with rails falling across the course. Particular trouble came for many riders over the second to last fence: a vertical set a tight four strides out from an oxer-vertical combination.

“I think [Catsy] did a great job. In the last line I think they got tired, so I think you had to really ride in to protect enough and then pull with everything that you had to fit the four,” Leffler said. “I think that got some people a little bit.”

We also want to send a big thank you to the unsung heroes of our horse shows. Here is Raul with Baley between rounds for the Derby.

Until next week….!

Great riding everyone!! Up next is Swan Lake… stay tuned!

Buddy has also made the trip and is now with his forever home at Pam’s! He is a “Pocket Pyrenees,” meaning he is a cross (they think Lab) and won’t get to the normal size of 120-150 pounds. (Which Pam is happy about!)  Isn’t this the sweetest?

Monday Updates from Rolling Acres

Good Morning,

This week at the farm has started off with the typical ‘April showers’ but currently the sun is shining brightly and the horses are loving it! Last week, our own Robin Feldman participated in “Lincoln’s Last Ride” held on April 13th in Washington D.C.  It was a mounted horse procession from 15th Street near the White House and concluded at Lincoln’s Cottage.  A riderless horse represented the fallen president.  President Lincoln last visited his Washington D.C. cottage retreat on April 13, 1865, the day before his assassination. For photos of the procession, click here.

The Rolling Acres show team is on the road again today and will be heading to Lexington, Virginia where they will be competing for the next two weeks.  We wish everyone the best of luck at the show! Be sure to stay tuned for results next week!
We also want to congratulate Pam on her new adoption, Buddy! Buddy is a Great Pyrenees who was being fostered by Pam’s daughter Kristina when they first met him over Easter. We are so excited for Buddy and his new home with the Saul’s!

Congratulations to Maggie and Cu Roi!

Good morning!

Hopefully many of you were able to get out this weekend and enjoy the weather.  Everyone here is so happy to see another color besides white!  Rolling Acres really is beautiful in Spring.  It’s really late this year, so the daffodils and forsythia are just starting to bloom into their bright yellow colors.  The hay fields are turning a lovely shade of green, and all the trees have buds that are ready to burst. We can’t wait!

Although our usual show team didn’t compete this weekend, we did want to send a big congrats to Maggie Hopkins who had a great first horse show start with her new horse Cu Roi and earned all 2nd’s over fences. She also won the hack to end up Reserve Champion in the Pre-Children’s Hunters at Swan Lake. We recently sold Cu Roi to Maggie and couldn’t be happier that their first show together went off so well! Way to go Maggie, we know you two have many wonderful things ahead!

Maryland National Horse Show Results

This week we didn’t have a lot of our riders competing, but our own Dana Nifosi rode Knob Creek at
the Maryland National Horse Show at the PG Equestrian Center this past weekend. The pair competed in the 3’3″ Amateur Owner division and were Amateur Owner Hunter Champions!
Way to go!
