HITS Ocala Circuit 2013… A Success for Rolling Acres Riders!
Whew! We Were Lucky!
Last week, some areas of Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia got hit with heavy snow and wind. After the warm days we had been having here in Brookeville, MD we not only didn’t want the snow, but we weren’t mentally ready for it! Luckily, it was mostly just a wet, wintry mix. The temperature was just above freezing and the earth was warm enough that we didn’t have any accumulation. The horses were also able to enjoy a nice, quiet day around the barn! Now, we are back in action! With today being in the low-60’s, we are thankful. Our southern counterparts will be heading back to Maryland towards the end of this month, and we are ready for them! Following Up from Last Week’s Reporter
Happy Tuesday everyone!
Today, in Brookeville, MD, it’s a gloomy Tuesday. Overcast, chilly and flash flooding expected later this afternoon. Awesome!
Remember that reporter I mentioned last week? Well, she came out and we got a lot accomplished. I wanted to follow up and give you some more details! The reporter is doing an article for The Bay Journal on horse farms and the bay restoration. She came for a little visit to the farm and so I showed her around.

A happy goodbye to our dear friend Quincy!
On Saturday Rolling Acres Farm in Brookeville, MD, wished a happy goodbye to Quincy, the horse. Quincy left for his retirement home in Frederick, MD where he is sure to have an easy retirement with lots of treats! Quincy was with us for over 30 years! Although we will miss him tremendously, we are excited to see him in his new pasture life, he sure earned it!

Old Man Winter is Here….Finally!
Good Morning everyone!
Here at Rolling Acres Stables in Brookeville, old man winter has finally arrived. We have been spoiled lately with winter temperatures in the mid 40’s-50’s and sometimes even warmer then our counterparts in Florida! However, we spoke too soon. Just yesterday old man winter arrived. Currently, it is 12 degrees outside with a windchill of 11 degrees. YIKES! Thankfully, all the horses are tucked in with their blankets on. We are going to hang in there and see what happens the next few days.
Hope everyone stays warm!! If you are looking for a place to come and hide out from Mr. Winter, come check us out at: http://www.rollacresshowstables.com/
A few beautiful days…in the January weather!
Last week here in Brookeville, Maryland we had some beautiful weather! The sun was shining and the horses were loving it. Lots of naps in the field under the warm sunshine. We also heard it was raining in Florida at the time…so sorry for the rest of the farm who is down there! Heh 🙂
